Maximize Each Day

If it means anything to you, this day is one in which you can create maximum opportunity. This day is one in which you can generate the kind of experience and contribution for someone like you have never done before. I woke up this morning at 5:40 am which is a little earlier than usual. Getting up early has allowed me to think about what I am thankful for, what I am sorry and what I would like to do for the day.

Giving thanks for the many great things in life allows us to start the day seeing the cup half full. We are no longer starting from scratch when we give thanks. We can see what we resources we have and how truly wonderful life really happens to be.

Saying sorry for things we have done or not done by our thoughts, words or actions helps us to realize that we are all make mistakes. Acknowledging our mistakes helps us to keep our hearts soft and our minds focused on improving. Even though we are seldom if ever able to really get it all right each day, we can do our very best.

Thinking each day about what we can contribute during that day keeps us conscious of the lives and needs of others. It keeps us from becoming caught in a trap whereby everything seems to be stuck in a mundane state. Rather we look at each day and we ask God to show us how He would like us to carry out our responsibilities and our lives to help others. It is so much better to give than to receive.

Have a great day and give all you can.

Leaving It All on the Field

Leaving It All On The Field

By Jeff Baldock of Careersport Inc.

Work is a part of our lives that we have a limited number of years to participate in. Often people wander through their careers without sitting down to really examine what they are passionate about giving to others. They forget that results for a customer make differences that enable others to achieve their goals.

If one chooses to operate without clear objectives, they reduce their focus and their ability to have impact on those they serve. Mediocrity is simply not fun and aimless. It brings us to a place of really questionning our lives. There is no dress rehearsal. This is it. Our time to accomplish and contribute is now, it is day to day. The satisfaction and payoff of tackling the issues with a plan is great.

People obtain fulfillment and increased confidence through much of what they accomplish at work. When they apply their talents to a clear set of goals and plans and exert all they have within a limited number of hours, they achieve more and experience greater satisfaction. Start with a plan of action. Work with a boss or coach to establish clear outcomes to achieve that line up with the organization vision, values and goals.

Be committed to approaching each day with a set plan. Share your plan with your supervisor so they are clear and buy into your objectives. Tackle the plan. Take time to rest. Celebrate the victories.

Update your resume with your new success. This new approach and determination to go the next level where you leave it all on the field brings greater reward for you, your team and the customers.
